Abstract:

There are many estuaries on the Oman Sea and the Persian Gulf but Tang estuary is one of incomparable with its shape and occurrence course which is located in the east part of Tang port on Mokran coast of Iran. The geomorphology phenomena around this estuary is one of incomparable with its shape and occurrence course which is located in the east part of Tang port on Mokran coast of Iran. The geomorphology phenomena around this estuary concerning to geomorphology are so important and some conditional geomorphic like "Toumboloy of Tang" are unique.Recognition of morphologic situations of the region of case study either its shape and circumstances or genesis and appearance are most important and has positive effects in making basic installation and improve hunting and fishing industry in the region. In this article it will be tried recognizing phenomena and important geomorphologic conditions based on field experiences and objective observations in the region because the studied sources and accomplished works are so little.

Abstract:

Wheat-forage corn is the most common rotation in irrigated land of Iran. The wheat conventionally is sown on the flat bed where the forage corn is planted on the raised beds typically 30-35cm wide with 75cm spacing between furrows. Using two different seed bed shapes for the consecutive crops is a limiting factor for implication of no-tillage or minimum tillage systems. To evaluate the possibility of applying a minimum tillage system in this rotation, hence the performance of wheat planted on raised beds need to be investigated. In a field experiment conducted at Kabootar Abad Research Center on a clay loam soil in 2002, the wheat broadcasted on flat bed was compared with grain drilling in two and three rows on the raised beds. This followed by the evaluation of the minimum tillage (reshaping the ridges used for wheat) and the conventional tillage (plowing + forming new ridges) for subsequent forage corn planted in one and two rows on raised bed. The parameters measured for comparing of wheat treatments were grain yield and yield components, biomass and the plant height. These were number of established plants, plant spacing, biomass and dry yield for the treatments applied in corn planting. The results showed that there was no significant difference in yields between the bed shapes (flat and raised-bed) used in wheat cultivation. For treatments with the equal number of seed row on ridges, the minimum tillage had no significant difference in biomass yield and stand establishment compared with the conventional tillage. It seems that the raised-bed planting for wheat and maintaining ridges for the subsequent corn can be recommended as an alternative method in wheatcorn rotation.

Abstract:

Some critics of the theory of prophetic dreams have provided four types of evidence to argue that the theory of prophetic dreams goes against the holy Quran. They include Quranic evidence, textual evidence, Quranic teachings as evidence and Quranic expressions as evidence. The evaluation of these arguments shows that, in some cases, these criticisms rest on a confusion between the phenomenological issues and theological and linguistic ones. In some other cases, the rival theory of recitation is invoked. The presupposition common to all these critics is that a second order theory can be supported by first order arguments. This is an indication of the lack of segregation between the linguistic and knowledge levels. As counterarguments can be brought forward by references to Quranic verses, in essence settling the issues of the rival theories cannot be settled with recourse to the text of the holy Quran.

Abstract:

The diminishing partnership is a contractual arrangement in which, through a Stipulation within the contract, the partners are obligated to gradually buy and sell shares. Due to misunderstandings about the nature of this partnership, several jurisprudential objections-particularly from contemporary Sunni jurists-have been raised regarding this commercial arrangement. Concerns have been raised regarding the possibility of two contracts within one, the presence of excessive uncertainty (Gharar), the exchange of debt for debt (Kālī bi-l-kālī), the suspicion of a usurious loan and the use of legal stratagems (Ḥiyal al-Ribā), its inconsistency with the requirement of immediacy (Tanjīz) in contracts, and its resemblance to Bay‘al-‘īnah. This study briefly examines the nature of the diminishing partnership and addresses these objections. It argues that the basis for rejecting these doubts lies in attention to three key elements of the diminishing partnership: 1.Recognizing the stipulated condition as a commitment to enter into a sale in the future, rather than an immediate realization of the sale; 2.The absence of any guarantee of profit or property by either party in this arrangement; 3.The partners’ awareness of the possibility of both profit and loss in this type of partnership. Employing a descriptive-analytical method and library-based research, this study examines these jurisprudential objections in detail and ultimately concludes that none of the raised objections are applicable to this contract.

Abstract:

Rocky intertidal organisms are facing pronounced fluctuations in environmental conditions even at small spatial and temporal scales. This heterogeneous habitat is a proper model system to investigate effects of physical parameters and their interactions on physiological performances of marine organisms. In the intertidal zone (especially in tidal pools), the temperature and salinity usually increase in concert during the daytime low tides. In this study, we used a rocky intertidal scavenger gastropod, Nassarius deshayesianus, as a model to test if high salinity can affect the metabolic performance of rocky intertidal mobile ectotherms at high temperatures. In August 2009, specimens were exposed to normal and elevated temperatures and salinities for 50 minutes and their specific metabolic rates were evaluated (N=12). At the high temperature treatment, metabolic rates were significantly lower when the salinity was high. Considering the concept of oxygen- and capacity- limited thermal tolerance, we will discuss that this antagonistic effect of increased salinity on the aerobic performance at the high temperature may lower thermal tolerance of intertidal ectotherms. Also N. deshayesianus showed high mortality after a few days of exposure to 36oC water temperature. This signifies that they may currently live close to the maximum limit of thermal tolerance in the hottest sea of the world, the Persian Gulf.

Abstract:

ONE OF THE PROBLEMS OF LARGE AND SMALL BERTHS OF THE COUNTRY IS THE SEDIMENTATION ISSUE IN THE ACCESS CHANNELS, BASINS AND SEABED AFTER THE BERTH IS BUILT, AND DREDGING THE PILED SEDIMENT TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY DEPTH FOR SHIPS AND COSTLY IMPLEMENTATION OF BERTHS. CONSIDERING THE LACK OF SUFFICIENT ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE INSIDE THE COUNTRY AND THE SEDIMENTATION SCIENCE BEING RATHER YOUNG, THE BERTH DESIGNING PROCEDURE DID NOT GROW AS EXPECTED. UNDERSTANDING THE SEDIMENT, ITS MECHANISM AND WAYS OF CONFRONTING IT IS A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE DURING BERTH DESIGN AND LOCATION. THE PORTS AND MARITIME ORGANIZATION APPLIED A PROJECT CALLED “SEDIMENTATION REGIME ON IRANIAN COASTS”, IN ORDER TO SYSTEMATICALLY CONFRONT THIS ISSUE, THROUGH CONSULTATIVE COOPERATION WITH THE HYDRAULICS RESEARCH CENTER OF DELFT, NETHERLANDS AND IRANIAN SPECIALISTS. THIS IS A BRIEF REPORT ON THE MASTER’S DISSERTATION ENTITLED “MORPHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF BUSHEHR BERTHS”, CONDUCTED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PROFESSOR DR. L.C VAN RIJN AND PROFESSOR DR.J.W.BIJKER AT NETHERLANDS. THE TOPICS MENTIONED INCLUDE FEATURES AND THE ISSUES OF BUSHEHR BERTH, WAVE PARAMETERS IN DEEP WATERS, WAVE TRANSFER FROM DEEP WATERS TO NEAR-SHORE WATERS, CURRENT PARAMETERS IN DEEP WATERS AND NEAR BERTHS, SEDIMENTATION OF THE ACCESS CHANNEL IN THE EXISTING CONDITIONS AND AFTER DREDGING, IMPACT OF DAM CONSTRUCTION NEAR THE ACCESS CHANNEL ON THE SEDIMENTATION AMOUNT, AND CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS.

Abstract:

Introduction Coastal zone are considered as a cross point for two different marine and continental ecology. They have distinguishable characteristics and are different from other parts of the Earth. During 16th century and "navigation revolution" these areas transformed to an environment for "new global system". Since then population has increasingly grown up and economy has been developed (about 3/7 billions of world population live in 100 kilometers around coastal areas).Methodology Using descriptive-analytical method and in the structure-agency model framework. this study intends to find strategic differences concerning to Iranian Coasts.Findings Iranian Coastal Zones are mainly dominated by insecure and turbulent conditions (Notably in South of Iran). Large parts of oil and gas based activities and its related economy are gathered in this zone and at the same time we do not see any convenient link between economic importance and Coastal zones and their unfavorable conditions. Conclusion The number of differences in the perspectives of all marine coastlines of Iran, in terms of climate, soil, natural contacts such as earthquakes, floods, access to fresh water, the development from the perspective of the quality of the human condition (HDC) and Human Development, GNP citizens and the general roles geo-econornical, gee-strategy and geopolitics, is at least 104 cases.

Abstract:

Labeo rohita, Gibelion catla, Cirrhinus mrigala, Ctenopharyngodon idella and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix were grown together for 365 days in triplicate ponds. Six iso-caloric feeds having varying protein levels i. e. 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 32% were prepared and supplemented to fish at 2% fish weight daily. Significantly, higher final average weight (793 ± 197 g) and total length gain (398 ± 40 mm) was recorded for Ctenopharyndodon idella. Net fish yield enhanced as the level of digestible protein (DP) in the supplementary diets increased and plateaued at 28% DP level, thereafter significant reduction (P<0. 05) in fish weight increments was experienced at any surplus protein level. Among the supplementary feeds, 28% DP level resulted in maximum net fish yield (4304 ± 33 kg ha-1 year-1) and a significantly higher overall nitrogen conversion ratio (NCR) of 1: 5. 2 ± 0. 14. Higher level of DP in supplementary feeds resulted in reduced fish growth.
